| Charlie Aust was born and brought up in Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe.
A third generation Rhodesian, he spent his childhood years on the family farm and attended boarding schools set deep in the bush of Matabeleland.
The unique environment of these formative years led to a deep and lasting attraction for the fauna and flora of Africa, an interest he reflected from his earliest years by drawing and sketching.
Today, with the passing of years, and despite having never received any tuition in the subject of art, his simple yet unique and alluring works continue to mirror a dedicated and undying love of the African wilderness and all its creatures, great and small.
Having lost his farm to the current Zimbabwean Government, Charlie moved to England in 2001.
